Well it’s a funny old time we’ve been having here – sometimes it fills you with elation, sometimes it fills you with fear. But I’ll tell you this, my friend: don’t let it drive you round the bend, because it’s just an adventure that we’re on.
And what an amazing adventure it is.
So you stop, you take a deep breath you look around you and you think, ‘you know, it’s not that bad, no reason to be sad, no reason to be mad, just relax, get centered and enjoy the show'.
Because you know, to have an opportunity like this is unprecedented.
That’s right, we’ve all come together on the planet at this time, from all different parts of the universe, from different times and spaces, we’ve come here to show our faces, for this, this most incredible show of the world going through the biggest change it’s ever gone through as far as we know.
And sometimes you get a little bit scared, sometimes you get lost in distraction, sometimes you get pulled by attraction, sometimes you just think you’re the bee’s knees, and other times you feel like you’re on your knees and that there’s nothing you can do that will get you through.
Bt I’ll tell you this, my friend, if you just breathe, relax, sink your weight and make contact with the power of the ground, and you let your body sway to the sound, you’ll find that before long, its song will have you thrilling with joy.
What an amazing adventure this is.
And that’s right: if you repeat those words (what an amazing adventure this is), over and over, before long, what you’ll find is your mind will release all that worry, all that fear, all that pain, and you’ll be feeling right as rain again.
That’s right: all you have to do is tell yourself how you want it to be, and that is how it will be – it’s all down to how you see it.
And when all is said and done, as we hurtle round this fiery sun, it’s just the interactions you have with others, all your sisters and brothers, that gives your life meaning. So if you fill your interactions with love, your life will be a loving one.
And believe me, when you die and you look back, the only thing that’ll have given your life meaning, is the love you shared with one another. That’s right, so love your sister and your brother.
And see everyone on the planet right here, right now, as belonging to your global tribe. Let go of all your anger, your resentment and your fear of people, open your heart wide, and embrace everyone with your love.
And if you think I’m namby pamby or a little woo woo, let me tel you, what I say is true.
Because, me, I’m one of the most cynical people who ever walked the Earth.
But ever since I took birth, there’s been something within me that wanted to reach out with joy to every girl and boy and say, “What an amazing adventure this is.”
So let’s resolve things right here, right now: there’s this force, this presence informing this entire universe – some people call it God, some people call it the Tao.
Doesn’t matter what you call it: names are just names.
What is important is that you open your heart and play your part in this great adventure, making it beautiful for everyone by instilling your joy in every girl and boy. You hear what I’m saying? I’m talking about playing like a child – allowing yourself to go a little bit wild.
To reach out and touch everyone in your world, with your joy, with your freedom, with your wishes for their joy, for their freedom.
And by and by, though it may not seem like a lot you’re doing, what you’ll be finding is, you’ll be transforming your world: making it more beautiful, more loving, more sensually pleasing, warmer and spicier all around.
And as far as I’m concerned, you can’t do better than that.
And just keep reminding yourself, it doesn’t matter how well or badly you think you’re doing in the game of life, no matter how much ease or how much strife you’re dealing with, as long as you remember, this is just an adventure, and you let go, you can enjoy it.
And when you enjoy it, you encourage others to enjoy it around you.
Because your joy is contagious.
Spread your joy to every girl and boy, OK?

Those happen to be the lyrics to ‘Adventureland’, one of the songs on the Positive Message Music album I’ve just made with Leakster, and which I adlibbed first time in one long spit as soon as I got on the mike in the studio, once we’d made a bit of a groove to go off, and though it’s not the most eloquent English I’ve given shape to in my time, it certainly sums up most of what Taoist practice is all about, as far as I’m concerned, at least in the practical sense.
Of course I’m also deeply concerned to properly teach the inner game of the martial arts and meditation master and do spend a lot of my time doing that in person, online via my www.schoolforwarriors.com training courses, and most excitingly just now via my brand spanking new, fifteenth and rather potent if I say so myself book, THE MESSAGE, vision for a new world, in which for the very first time in recorded history the cosmologies of East and West have been fused to demonstrate how when you know how to center yourself it elicits your angelic presence within, whence arises spontaneously a natural set of ethics, ethics of decency, along with empathy for the angelic presence within all others. This then transforms the Ten Commandments into ten perfect precepts for livig in grace with each other and leads to a vision of a new world.
