Traction and momentum

Traction and momentum, that’s what we like, or rather that’s what I like, as I can’t talk for you – maybe you like things sliding and falling apart, I don’t know – or maybe there are times it feels better to let things slide and fall apart and times it feels better when there’s traction and momentum, in respect of your projects, your relationships, your finances, your personal training regime, and your interaction and negotiation with life in general, with the world of the ten thousand things.

The joy derived from bearing witness to an idea becoming reality and watching it gain traction and momentum is the real reward in any manifesting process, a reward far greater and more substantial in terms of its significance and the way it makes you feel, than any of the actual results you manifest, for these are just events along the way.

Intention (wu wei magic)

But you can’t contrive or engineer traction and momentum into being. You can merely intend them into being and then surrender to the flow of events that ensue and wait and see if indeed traction and momentum have sprung into being of themselves.

Traction, meaning pulling power and momentum meaning self-propelled forward motion are primordial aspects of Tao, and imply something moving through time and space and pulling all the details of this created phenomenon into place in the optimal way to attain and sustain its integrity for the duration of any specific time frame – and pulling you along with it for the ride.

Without traction, nothing would hold together in any shape and the universe would return to the amorphous state. Without momentum, all the moving parts of the universe from the smallest subatomic particle to the greatest galaxy, would stop moving and the whole thing would congeal into one huge unholy cosmic mess.

The outside reflects the inside and vice versa

It’s the same as in your life. You have to have the yin, the trend to create structure and shape, and you have to have the yang, the trend to motion, to prevent it all falling apart on the one hand, or congealing and sticking on the other.

And the beautiful thing about Taoist practice is that everything about your life in all respects is governed and therefore adjusted from within: adjust the yin and the yang within and the yin and yang on the outside adjusts itself. Regulate, strengthen and equalize the levels of traction (pulling together) and momentum (striding forth) within and those same forces play out in your external life automatically.

As always, breathing is the key

And the simplest, most direct way to do that is by regulating your breathing. The in-breath corresponds to the yin, by which you gain traction and the out-breath corresponds to the yang, by which you gain momentum.

Slow down and deepen your breathing, make the in-breath the same duration as the out-breath and make both as long and luxuriant as possible and train this habit until it’s going on all the time automatically and within days if not hours, you’ll notice all the projects you’re working on and all the relationships you’re involved in, or any kind, will gain traction and momentum.

Especially if you compound this effect by focusing your intention there.

This is achieved easiest and swiftest by repeating 18 times, words to the effect of: by regulating the yin and yang of existence through regulating my breathing I naturally instigate a spontaneous benign transformation and increase of both traction and momentum in all aspects of my external life now.

Excitement

I say all this as I whizz through whole mountain ranges of workload light as a feather (by using all these techniques I share), excited about the Barefoot and Leakster positive message music project (check the Get Spanky video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylc4DekeOOI and buy the super-splendid EP here http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/vagabond/id439663329?i=439663344&ign-mpt=uo%3D4? ) and excited by the soon-coming releases of the next Hofer66 feats Barefoot Doctor EP, IDIOCATION, and the Dance Meditation album by Ohm-g and me (as Green Rabbit).

I’m taking a short break from the fabulous weekly satsangs to gather some new power and give the power we generated so far a bit of breathing space to work its magic and will be back with the next satsang on Sunday July 10th – book a place or set of places early at http://barefootsatsang.com.

And we’re taking bookings for the next ‘Barefoot, live and spontaneous’ improvised stand-up comedic commentary at the Soho Theatre on Sunday September 11th (the alternative 9/11) at http://barefootlive.eventbrite.com.

And of course there’s more I’m excited about but we’d be here all day if I continued the list.

Meantime, I wish you all the traction and momentum you need right now to make everything in and about your life as spiffing as everything in and about a life can be.

With love, Supercharged

Breathing, I naturally instigate a spontaneous benign transformation and increase of both traction and momentum in all aspects of my external life now.
