Myself I’ve just been doing everything in my power to refine and direct my output intending always to keep growing in congruence that my contribution has the most possible helping effect on the greatest number of people, because you just never know, it might save someone’s life.
You never know how your being of service is having an impact
I was told only the other day that a young woman was about to end it all when she chanced upon something I’d written in a book – doesn’t matter which – and that had given her the light to keep going – and if that had been the only result of my having sat there all those weeks and months writing it, and having sat there all those wasted hours in publishers’ offices at meetings where they’d promised the earth and delivered but a dried pea, then it was entirely worth it, a thousand times over. I’d had no idea when writing whichever words they were that they’d save someone’s life one day, though it had always been and is always my intention to bring succor and light to all who interact with me, whether via written word, spoken word or any other means.
And it’s that which truly feeds me, which gives me the sense of my life having some significance. This is the healthy sort of feeding we all crave yet usually look for in all the wrong places – I know I do – but the more I continue practicing the Taoist methods – the reframe of perspective, the meditation, the martial arts, the medicine and the magic, the more it becomes irrefutably clear that the only true meaning and significance is derived through serving, hence connecting by the heart to others and ultimately, the Tao itself.
Be original
Not out of saintliness or saintly aspirations – saintliness is rare in any case – but through a simple, basic understanding that to live a magnificent, fulfilling, satisfying, joyful, love-filled, abundant life, you have to chip in rather than fit in, contribute rather than conform, and so take your lead from the Great Flow of events rather than from blindly copying the actions and patterns of others, whether others in the world around you, or others in adverts or movies.
No one knows better than you how to succeed in your life is what I’m inferring – no holy book, no prophet, no seer, no leader, no priest, priestess, king, queen, rich person or wandering mendicant knows better than you, not even the Buddha.
Trust
Learning to trust yourself is one of the most crucial endeavors of all: trust yourself to make the best and most of all conditions and opportunities, trust yourself to conduct yourself with integrity, dignity and honor at all times, trust yourself to mess things up and recover in a trice, and trust yourself to succeed in fulfilling your potential this lifetime come what may. Once you trust yourself, then attend to developing trust in the Great Flow, the Tao – trust life to be benign and to always deliver you to your highest good no matter what.
Once you trust yourself and the Great Flow, your trust in others will increase naturally and automatically, not because you’ve forgotten people are flawed and frail and inevitably let each other down, but because of that: you trust them to be human with all that implies, but because you trust yourself to always respond optimally in every situation, and because you trust life to always deliver you to your highest good regardless of the apparent obstructions created by others’ apparent stupidity, carelessness, neglect, greed or thoughtlessness, it doesn’t matter to you.
Everything is working exactly as it’s meant to, to produce your highest good. Keep repeating that to yourself – everything is working exactly as it’s meant to, to produce my highest good – and in time you’ll start feeling it and not only feeling it but marveling at how what seemed like a great mess actually turned out to be a grand triumph for you.
Relax and feel the glee
Eventually you get so relaxed about the way of the Great Flow with all its yin-yang ups and downs and all around the houses action, you truly don’t mind which way things go.
Eventually you’re just so gleeful to be alive, above all other sensations of mind and body, you become so aware that life is fleeting and never to be complacent about, and your glee radiates with such infectiousness, and that infectiousness causes things to move so harmoniously for you, you truly can’t understand why you ever gave way to worry or fretting in the first place.
Whatever it is you want, nothing is more important than your relationship and dialogue with your Tao, the Great Universal You, the Great Isness with your face on. I know it sounds boring at first glance – surely the money, the fame, the glamour, the attention, the respect, the acclaim, the reward is the way to satisfaction and fulfillment, not this nebulous mostly abstract conversation with the divine – but no, nothing is more important.
Keep talking
The Native Americans talk to the creator in every person and object and it talks to them through people, through things. And I’ve never met a more grounded, impressive or admirable people than them, (aside from the modern alcoholic and/or drug casualties but that’s so in all cultures). So why not let’s take a leaf out of their book – I do – and talk to the Tao in everyone and everything - know that everyone and everything is merely an expression of the Tao communicating with you, guiding you and drawing you ever closer to your highest good, whatever that comprises.
And in the process don’t limit how magnificently your life can turn out by indulging limited beliefs about yourself, your worth, your abilities and your possibilities. Everything imaginable can be made manifest. And none of it matters anyway – the only thing that does is your dialogue with the Tao.
Tell the Tao I love you over and over if stuck for something to say and hear the Tao say it back.
And that, if I’m not mistaken is now the end of this transmission, which I hope served and serves you well, instilling all sorts of ideas and inspirations in your deeper circuit boards, which once assimilated trigger a whole new and improved slant on your life and prospects.
With love, Supercharged
Everything is working exactly as it’s meant to, to produce your highest good.
