Sitting at a café on the beach talking with a friend of mine the other day – him deeply troubled by the oil-spill, imagining the worst and seeing it going on indefinitely until it covered and killed all seven seas, along with the plankton and us all dying as a result, no doubt in time to fit in with the melange of assorted prophesies concerning 2012 – and of course he has a point, it could happen and/but so could loads of other even more dramatic things - I tried, in the spirit of empathy, to enter with him into the fearful state but found it simply wouldn’t come. I didn’t say anything about it – he’s a tai chi guy, so didn’t need me to spout philosophical mollifications to reassure him, he just needed me to bear witness to his state, which I duly did.
Preparation
However it did get me thinking about what I would have said had he asked.
Perhaps that you must do all you can do to prepare for anything and everything that happens, though in most cases this essences down to ensuring sensible, flexible maximum levels of physical, mental, emotional, financial, social, personal and spiritual fitness, clarity and integrity, which at least gives you more of a fighting chance than otherwise. But the range of possible contingencies is so great it would possibly verge on insane to take it much further than that.
If, say, an asteroid were to randomly smash into the planet where you were standing at the time, carrying a hardhat in your backpack wouldn’t be much help for example.
I once went to look at some land in Colorado and the guy on the land next door, who was selling it, was fully prepared for the worst: underground water storage, underground fuel storage, underground food storage and even a mounted machinegun to ward off marauders. And this was back in 1979. I wonder if he’s getting bored yet sitting there still, manning his machinegun waiting for the worst to happen.
So much for specific preparation.
Love
The truly crucial thing to do though, especially in light of how flimsy our connection to life might become at any time, for a variety of factors way too numerous to mention and what’s the point anyway, is to keep remembering and keep remembering to remember, to keep loving being alive in each and every moment, despite all the pain and discomfort, disappointments and dismay, doubt and delusion – just keep loving being alive, because it’s the greatest, most unfathomably mysterious miracle in the universe, as far as we’re each concerned and in remembering, also remembering to be grateful for it, moment, by moment, to never assume it will keep going on, or that anything in the world of form is permanent in any sense, or has any hope of ever becoming permanent, as this entire universe is comprised of moving parts – to stay awake to it all, keep looking around you, moment after moment and going, ‘wow, I’m still here – what a miracle’.
That way if the oil does wind up seeping in through any of your/our orifices, as you/we take our last gluggy, oily breath, at least you/we won’t be thinking, ‘damn I wasted all those precious moments feeling glum for nothing,’ – at least, you’ll have the strange satisfaction of knowing you lived it, loved it and rode it for all it was worth right up to the last nanosecond.
Obviously this goes for the fear of life and death in general.
In this particular body, with this particular mind, it’s the only ride you’ll/we’ll ever go on.
Share
And to share the wonder and joy you feel about being alive by contributing to the general mix of wellbeing each in our own particular unique way.
Currently my own favourite contributor is Luciano, the Chilean DJ, who with his Vagabundos crew, has just emerged like a rocket from the underground, is presently taking Ibiza, both the world’s party capitol and one of the most spiritually potent spots on the planet, by storm and deservedly so.
And from my own end, along with Hofer66, we seemed to pleasantly alter the airways and underlying warp and weft of things on a subliminal level Tuesday just gone and will hopefully grow that every Tuesday night at Atzaro, Ibiza for the next couple of months or so, with our revolutionary DANCEFLOOR MEDITATION (get healed while you party), so if you find yourself around, come and check the sound, otherwise tune in psychically each Tuesday around 23.00 Madrid time as that’s when we’ll be starting transmission with gusto. And if you’re in Barcelona this Saturday 10th, we’ll be rocking the warp and weft at Macarena-Mar on the beach after dark.
I’ll also be opening the doors of School for Warriors 1, my essential foundation online video-based course – developing personal power - for one week later this month to take in the next group of students, so if you’ve missed out on getting a place so far, stand by for news on that coming soon.
Otherwise, I could go on forever and am sure at the deepest level I do, as do you and all of us, but suffice it to say, take each day, live it, love it and ride it for all it’s worth, no matter what.
Back soon.
Love, Supercharged
Keep loving being alive, because it’s the greatest, most unfathomably mysterious miracle in the universe.
