Taken from the current 'Daily DocBox' over on my other site because I coudn't say it any better....

When I sit down to write these boxes, I never know what I'm going to say. I imagine I might say this or that, but once I start something else takes over and words acquire a spirit of their own.

That's how I mostly avoid what I consider the ghastly sin of cliché, which I feel's important as I believe I owe it to you to be original - you can go elsewhere for cliché and there's no shortage of places offering it.

So as I contemplate this momentous occasion, the end of 2011 and start of 2012, and for all we know, the last New Year's Eve on Earth, ever, filled with an unprecedented sense of occasion, I'll endeavor to eschew gratuitous sentiment, as there's reams of that on offer - people with apparently wise things to say about either the end of the world, the great transition, or us rising up a few levels of vibrational frequency into a new dimension, all of which might be so, but no one knows.

What I will say, however, is that it's been one hell of a party till now. These past few decades and years of libertarianism, freedom, abundance and opportunity to explore and share the workings of existence so profoundly, along with the chance to have such unbridled fun doing it, have been more than splendid - at least in the developed world.

But all good things have to come to an end.

And as the balance tips, relatively swiftly from global prosperity to global poverty, and the differential between the wealth levels of those who've had the fortune or wit to manipulate the system to their advantage, and those who've just been bumbling along singing a song, has grown too great for comfort, and as the levels of envy have grown proportionately, as they always have at such times, portending burgeoning mass social unrest and upheaval, and all this fundamentally, not really on account of a corrupt banking and political-industrial-military system, but more because the very resources we rely on are running out at an alarming rate, hence costing too much to sustain a sensible economy, it seems fairly clear this particular party is coming to an end.

This is all governed by the immutable law of yin and yang, which has it that phases of abundance are necessarily and inevitably followed by phases of scarcity, phases of ease, by phases of hardship.

And it's at that tipping point we now find ourselves poised, as if gazing into a gaping abyss, knowing we'll be soon required to jump, not knowing how deep the crevasse is, nor whether there's anything soft enough down there to break our fall.

All of this, of course, is without mentioning the possibility of huge earth changes as foretold for this time by the ancient tribes - the Hopi and the Mayan for a start - compared to which our local socio-economic challenges pale into insignificance.

And it doesn't matter how well prepared you are - doesn't matter, how much freeze-dried food, water fuel or provisions you've stored up, nor how efficiently you've installed generators, or sustainable power sources, or how well tooled-up you are with guns or other weapons of self-defence, if this potential rocking and rolling of reality does indeed gather pace as it appears set to do, there's very little in the external realm you really can do to prepare, as none of us actually knows what's coming.

I saw all this clearly back in 1978, which was why I went to live with the Native Americans, one of the Hopi tribes, in fact, knowing they'd know what to do to prepare.

But after four years of that reality, what I finally concluded from their teachings, was that the only thing you really could do was to let go of your attachment to the luxuries of life, let go of the safety rail altogether and instead put all your faith in being guided by the Tao, the Great Spirit, the invisible realm, the universal presence, the god, spirit, or whatever you want to call it, and trust it to shunt you to always be in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing in the right way, with the right people and the right result.

I've been experimenting with this myself progressively more in the years since then, and find the more I do let go of the old and familiar, and the more I embrace the insecurity of not knowing what comes next, the more elegantly life provides for me.

And that the more I desist from projecting into the future save for logistical planning or creative visualization purposes, the less anxiety I engender within and the more efficiently (and enjoyably) my needs are met.

This effect is then compounded by letting go of my own egocentric agenda and instead aligning my intention with serving the greater good of all my sisters and brothers on the planet.

So if, at this momentous point in human history, I were to proffer advice on how best to proceed in order to not only survive but thrive on these increasingly changing conditions, I'd suggest that at some point very soon, you take a long, slow, inhalation, and as you do, mentally gather up all your attachment to what's been till now - to the convenience, the comfort, the illusion of permanence, cushioning from the rigors of naked existence - and then purposefully, slowly, powerfully exhale and use the escaping breath to expel this attachment from your person at the most radical level - and to leave it all behind in 2011.

Repeat as many of these expulsive exhalations as required to feel cleansed of all attachment to the past.

Then focusing on the inhalation, take a long, slow breath in and use it to transport a wealth of fresh 2012 potential into your person.

Repeat these inhalations as many times as you need to feel you've filled yourself to the brim with the seeds of pastures new - pastures which though you have no idea how they'll look or feel, will somehow proffer you everything you need - until you feel replete with enough potential to sustain you through any degree of adversity.

Then make 13 brief consecutive visualizations, one for the end of each month from now until well into next January, assuming we're all still here by then, of you looking and feeling supremely well, relaxed, at ease, prospering, loved (and loving) and enjoying a spectacular life come what may. For as you see it, that's how, by hook or by crook, it'll be.

And tell yourself 6 times, 'I naturally, spontaneously and automatically transform all disadvantage to my utmost advantage, and all advantage to even greater advantage, from now on'.

May 2012 turn out to be the very best year of your life so far in every respect.

With all my love Steph (BD - Supercharged)
