The ancient Taoists, with no multibillion research budget to play with, explained that the manifest universe (as opposed to what we’d call anti-matter), is activated into existence at the core by five elemental forces, entities, aspects of Tao, the one original generative presence.
The physicists with their multibillion particle colliders and so on, seeking to find the divine with machines, have now just been confronted with the probability of there being five god-particles not one.
I have utmost respect for physicists and what they’re doing on the one hand, because it’s crucial to the integrity of our cosmology to have the ineffable presence confirmed, but on the other, deeper hand, can’t help wondering how our habit of mental masturbation ever grew so ridiculously out of hand, excuse the pun.
Hide and seek
I’m convinced, if indeed they ever found the original generative presence, everything would disappear – the cosmic game of hide and seek would come to a sudden end and the whole universe be sucked instantaneously into a black hole.
Number one immutable law, according to the way of Taoism, is that the generative presence that can be seen, described, or in any way accommodated by the human mind, is not the true generative presence. The Tao is unknowable through thinking.
Meditation without a research budget
The Tao simply is and the only way to know it is by stilling and silencing the mind, hence why I teach all the methods I do to achieve this, because knowing the Tao in that way makes living eight billion times more fun and productive.
On the other hand, maybe with enough collisions the physicists will discover the Tao itself and somehow use it to create a new experimental universe, which might have been how this one started in the first place.
Doesn’t matter either way. The point is to enjoy being here as part of the experiment.
