Karma Yogis

tree-behind-barefootIn the midst of the supersonic multitasking I’m obliged to partake of at the moment, there’s been hardly a nanosecond to register the subtle sensations of relief as the all-hands-on-deck launch for School for Warriors drew to its close a couple of days ago but somehow they’re sneaking through regardless, as I was sitting, for instance, in first one recording studio in the hills and then another in some other hills, working on two album projects side by side – Dub Spirit and Green Rabbit - or helping the new School for Warriors students find their way around the site, adding the odd thousand words or so here and there to the enhanced e-book I’m writing, 6 Kilos of Goulash, working on School for Warriors 3, helping my ancient master, John Kells, to put together his deeply esoteric, arcane Way of the Sacred Guardian training, or generally whizzing up and down the length the island doing this or that from an endless list of temporal items to be ticked off the list.

Extreme sport

Remaining organized and efficient at this pace is an extreme sport.

These subtle sensations of release in the midst of action infiltrate the pace as discreetly fleeting hellos from the Tao along with reminders to relax and take succour in each moment, as none of this (the world of the ten thousand things) is ultimately crucial, just how I’m/we’re passing the time as the planet hurtles round the sun.

Good to pass it in a way that brings gifts to others, though, I say, hence why I stress intending your day to be of value to the world, every day: it lends the time meaning.

And we do love a nice bit of meaning.

Meaning

Saying which, I hope all that had some meaning – my brain is flirting with scramble from extreme use so it’s hard to tell.

Been finding myself in more and more conversations with people experiencing a similar effect – this realization in the accelerating rush to goodness-knows-where, that we’re each riding a subtle given flow of events – the Tao – destiny is as it was inevitably always going to be – no point struggling with the way things transpire – every point in rising up to meet all that’s beautiful in any given moment – no point wasting energy stressing over this or that – every point aspiring to and training for excellence in everything you do – no point worrying about where to be – every point focusing on the breath and telling yourself enough times to feel it shift you, ‘I’m always in the right place at the right time”.

Service

It’s a natural trend towards being karma yogis – people following their Tao and surrendering with poise into each moment as hatha yogis surrender with poise to each asana (position).

And always remembering to open the heart – visualize the two halves of the breastbone sliding open from the midline to reveal your beautiful beating heart, whence streams your love.

Not because you’re being nice but because you’re learning by and by that when love flows, miracles follow and it’s these miracles that make your life beautiful – the surprise twists and turns that lead you somewhere unprecedented yet familiar (familiar because it was always your destiny to arrive there and your subconscious knows everything that’s going to happen already).

Then opportunities suddenly drop out of the sky. We make it happen for each other.

Messengers

We’re here serving as couriers, delivering the gifts the Tao sends through to each other.

Your whole life can be transformed by one phone call telling you you’ve got the deal, got the job, got the relationship or whatever it is. Just as someone’s whole life can be transformed by the opportunities you bring them.

But the impulse originates at the subatomic level – you can’t manufacture it.

And it’s triggered by love.

Here’s to love.

Love, Supercharged

When love flows, miracles follow.
