In this second article to further the discussion of healing as a super-skill, firstly I want to say that presuming to know emphatically how healing works, constitutes a certain degree of arrogance.
I’ve been studying and practicing healing for 44 years, since I was 11, 17 of those years spent on the coalface of human anguish, treating approximately 100,000 people, mostly successfully, using a combination of Taoist-style acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, relaxation and vision guidance, physical adjustments and so on, and another 11 years professionally sharing an understanding of the underlying thought-system and methods.
I was superbly well trained by an excellent master of the art and unabashed to admit I’m myself a world heavyweight in terms of training, effectiveness and experience and yet would not even begin to presume I could claim any emphatic view on its mechanics.
The Great Mystery
Like life itself, healing is a mystery. In fact healing is life. Healing is the aspect of life that repairs everything, mostly before it’s even broken. Healing is an expression of the regenerative force.
Whether you’re healing yourself or healing another, you’re acting as a channel or conduit and filter for this primordial regenerative force.
Hence being empty is prerequisite.
Does this mean have an enema before commencing operations?
Not unless you feel you need one.
But it does mean detaching from all forms of egocentric agenda momentarily.
And in detaching, giving yourself over to be used as a channel – giving yourself over with good grace in the spirit of service, even and perhaps especially if you yourself are the intended end-user.
Give over
Giving over your agenda however is not the same thing as relinquishing intention.
Declaring the intention to serve as a channel through which the regenerative force can be transmitted and so produce a greater state of wholeness in the intended recipient is essential and is in fact the most important aspect of preparation, perhaps even more so than specific training.
Next comes willingness and readiness to perform a metaphysical feat: to make something or someone whole, you first have to accept that any perceived lack of wholeness (any perceived symptom, sickness, lesion or wound) is fundamentally illusory and that the situation or person is already perfectly whole, it’s just that you can’t see it yet with your physical eyes.
But your inner eye, the eye ‘in’ the pineal gland, situated in center-brain, the eye of your eternal-internal watcher, must be trained to see the a priori wholeness that’s already there.
By seeing a situation, a person or yourself already whole, you instantaneously instigate the healing process. You instigate a manifestation of healing.
Trust
Next you have to trust in the power of the primordial regenerative force (chi) and you have to trust its intelligence.
It is unlimited in power and wants to flow and make whole everyone and everything in its path, wherever it’s led; it wants to heal and whomever or whatever it flows to, intrinsically wants to be healed likewise.
You have to see all obstacles to that already removed.
Then you have to step yourself out of the way too, your only job now, to set up a flow of this chi through you, and direct it where it most needs to go.
Training
Although knowing precisely where and how to send the flow for maximum efficacy is a relatively major study in itself, the miracle is, that even without you knowing what you're doing technically, the chi will eventually find its way to its optimum destination, simply by you intending it so.
However to refine and master this ability to the level of a super-skill and so expedite healing, you have to learn a few basic templates and protocols first, in respect of diagnostic, prognostic and treatment methods. Once armed with those, you can effectively ‘go out and heal’.
And from where I’m sitting right now, here in the healing sundrenched wintertime forests of Ibiza, slowly preparing myself and my effects for imminent expedition-USA, I’m seeing an introductory online course in healing as the likeliest candidate for something more formally presented as an offering on this site, sometime not too deep into 2010, weather permitting.
Over the course of a few courses, I see going into the five elements and eight principles underlying the entire Taoist healing system in order to then show how to read the pulse to diagnose, make prognosis and choose a treatment program. And I see teaching the Taoist treatment methods, including sound healing, acupressure, craniosacral style energy transfer, vision-transmitting, percussion, deep tissue stimulation, kneading, pinching and energy stroking.
I see making this relevant and accessible for the layperson as much as the professional or someone wishing to use it to start healing as a professional, as a prime template or adjunct to existing modalities, depending on how far someone followed the course of the courses.
A theme to be developed.
Something to be manifested.
A new article on manifesting will be next up.
